Gun violence is a tragedy affecting the lives of individuals around the world. More than 500 people die daily because of violence committed with illegal firearms.

There have been shootings motivated by silly riffs that used to just escalate into fistfights, not shootouts.

Gun violence is a contemporary global human rights issue. Gun-related violence threatens our most fundamental human right, the right to life.


Anyone can be affected by firearm violence but in certain situations, gun violence disproportionately impacts communities of colour, women and other marginalized groups in society.

Sometimes, the mere presence of firearms can make people feel threatened and fearful for their lives with severe and long-term psychological effects on individuals and whole communities.

The idea is to create awareness among global audiences by broadcasting the news of these lesser-talked-about incidents taking place in an uncommon way within a pre-existing print layout known as #ShotOniPhone created by the famous tech giant Apple.


It’s often said that an armed society is a polite society. But it’s striking how some of us use guns to shoot and kill over trifles, issues that potentially could be resolved by being a little more polite.
